Multicultural Education Strategies
Writing response in the form of poetry that analyzes myself as an educator with a multicultural education lens.
Analysis:
Multicultural education strategies involve numerous ways of being responsive as an educator in diverse classrooms. Rather than looking at students as homogenous, this practice encourages several inquiry methods that can enhance pedagogical effectiveness. To reflect on how multicultural education in our own practices students had to write reflections geared to begin to think through this lens. I wrote a poem that shows my growth from beginning to ending this course.
Reflection:
Throughout the Multicultural Education course, I learned various strategies for being a more effective educator. Before the class, I usually relied on my multiple lenses from how I grew up to connect with students in educational settings. This course encouraged me to become more intentional about incorporating better my students’ experiences to inform my practice.
